I enjoyed the posting of the master-Derain. An interesting aspect of this painting is that Derain was not entirely "fauve. " The strokes, especially in the sky remind Cézanne, composition and water solution resemble Monet, the boats to the mode of Sisley - all masters of Impressionism had just run out, proposing Cubism, Expressionism and Fauvism.
Andre Derain - master painter - shows us how this work was founded to revolutionize the real with Fauve works and its contrasts of complementary colors, with plains covering large areas of the screen ... The comment is meant to honor the master Andre Derain who I'm a fan!
